At Trajet, we believe that youth are able to directly or symbolically repair the harm caused by their actions. We also believe that they must be offered the chance to make up for their mistakes and to show that they are capable of making positive contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nOur team of Youth Alternative Justice (YAJ) workers is tasked with supporting youth in completing their measures. Once their file has been opened, a YAJ worker from Trajet will arrange a meeting with the youth to coordinate their measure.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\nCOMMUNITY SERVICE<\/h4><\/div>
<\/span><\/div><\/div>\nIf you have to do community service<\/strong>, this meeting will enable your YAJ worker to get to know you better and to identify an organization suited to your interests and abilities. Community service is performed in non-profit organizations. The tasks are varied, ranging from manual labour to personal assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your YAJ worker and your supervisor in the host organization will expect you to be respectful and punctual and to make the necessary efforts to do the work required of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you do not fulfill your commitments, you may be withdrawn from the organization. Your file would then be closed without being completed and you would be responsible for the consequences.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
PERSONAL REFLECTION PAPER<\/h4><\/div>
<\/span><\/div><\/div>\nIf you have to write a\u00a0personal reflection paper<\/strong>, the meeting will assist you with your reflection and you will be given a writing tool to guide you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MEDIATION<\/h4><\/div>
<\/span><\/div><\/div>\nIf you have to participate in a\u00a0mediation<\/strong>\u00a0process, your meeting with the mediator will allow you to prepare for your discussion with the victim. You will be given information about how a mediation session works, and the mediator will ask you questions to help you think about what topics you want to discuss with the victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LETTER OF APOLOGY<\/h4><\/div>
<\/span><\/div><\/div>\nIf you have to write a\u00a0letter of apology<\/strong>, the meeting will assist you with your reflection and you will be given a writing tool to guide you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nCOMPENSATORY WORK<\/h4><\/div>
<\/span><\/div><\/div>\nIf you have to complete compensatory work<\/strong> (in lieu of paying a fine), this meeting will enable your YAJ worker to get to know you better and to identify an organization suited to your interests and abilities. Compensatory work is performed in non-profit organizations. The tasks are varied, ranging from manual labour to personal assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your presence and active participation at all group meetings will be very important.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
FINANCIAL COMPENSATION<\/h4><\/div>
<\/span><\/div><\/div>\nIf you have to make a\u00a0financial compensation<\/strong>, the meeting will help you decide which organization you wish to donate to. You will be put in contact with a member of the organization to set up a meeting, at which you will be able to ask questions and learn more about the organization. At this meeting, you will have to fill out a form, and you will receive a receipt for your donation.
