Peer mediators are trained to intervene in school patrols and meetings, where the concerned parties are gathered to discuss a conflict and to find solutions that are constructive and satisfactory for all concerned<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This project allows peer mediators to develop new skills and to play a positive role in their school.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Here are a few comments from students who have acted as mediators in their schools:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u201cI developed perseverance and open-mindedness.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI learned that we can have a positive influence on younger people.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cIt\u2019s easier for me to communicate with others and to do group work.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI learned that there are conflicts that can be solved without using physical force.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI learned how to impartially intervene.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI am now able to resolve a conflict.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cI learned how to communicate without attacking others, even in the worst situations.\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-3\" style=\"margin-bottom:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-685e41af6f0a16e8e96173973ebc1faa is-layout-flow\" style=\"color:#000000;background-color:#ffe97d;padding-top:2em;padding-right:2em;padding-bottom:2em;padding-left:2em\">\n<p><strong><strong><strong>For further information<br><\/strong>Please contact<strong>&nbsp;Julie Pouliot&nbsp;<\/strong>at<strong>&nbsp;514&nbsp;521-2000<\/strong>,<strong>&nbsp;ext.241<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our peer mediation program is intended to train students in your school to act as mediators and peacemakers for their peers.
